The Five-Year-Old Takes Pictures: Franklin Park Zoo

As I mentioned last week, The Five-Year-Old is the proud owner of a Fisher-Price Kid-Tough See Yourself Camera and the shiny new title of Official Caterpickles Junior Photojournalist. I took The Five-Year-Old and her camera to Franklin Park Zoo this weekend to tour the Zoo’s new Zoorassic Park! exhibit.

Review: The Dairy Twist in Pembroke MA

Last week’s ice cream hunt brought us to the Dairy Twist in Pembroke, Massachusetts, (about 15 minutes northeast of Kingston). It’s an open-air ice cream shop, where you buy your ice cream at the storefront, then go somewhere else to eat it.

“How long can jellyfish sting after they are dead?”

Last Christmas, when The (then) Four-Year-Old was surveying Panama City Beach for a likely spot to construct a landing pad for Santa and his reindeer, she came across a jellyfish. Naturally I panicked. “Don’t step in that! It might sting you!” The (then) Four-Year-Old, practically: “But it’s dead.” “Doesn’t matter, it can sting anyway.” The (then) Four-Year-Old, curiously, “How long can jellyfish sting after they are dead?”
