If it’s Friday, it must be time for another weekend update
Hi.
I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve spent any time on Caterpickles. Looking over my past few weeks of posts, it kind of shows. So instead of posting links to a bunch of news stories, today I thought I’d take a paragraph or two and update you on what we’ve been doing here at Caterpickles Central.
First, we were not in Boston for the Boston Marathon bombings. As The Six-Year-Old’s drawing indicates, we were in Chicago for school vacation week, and had the very disorienting feeling of watching our world appear to fall apart while we were too far away to do anything about it. Feelings that were very quickly tempered by relief as we got word that our loved ones were ok, and pride as we watched our city very capably handle the situation. Our thoughts and prayers remain with those affected, as well as with the citizens of West, Texas, who endured a devastating week as well.

Our other major update concerns our house. I’m pleased to announce that I have finally completed the majority of the decluttering. It took nearly two months of 10-hour-a-day focused work, but every room in the house is officially gorgeous. Several of them have even been repainted. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but if pressed I’d probably say either our guest room or The Six-Year-Old’s room.
The Six-Year-Old has asked me not to post a picture of her room, so I won’t. You will have to take my word for it that it is super-cute as well.
Anyway, all of this has taken up quite a bit of my time, but with only a couple of closets, the attic, and the basement to go, I’m hopeful that things will be able to get back to normal here at Caterpickles Central shortly.
In the meantime, I’m going to take advantage of this lovely weather we’re having and take a walk outside for a change.
